Speculation Helps to Move the Bitcoin Forward Instead of Illegal Activities

There have been concerns over the bitcoin over how many people who engage in illegal activities are using the bitcoin. These include people who use the bitcoin for executing drug deals. People are using the secure and easy to move nature of the bitcoin to move transactions, not to mention how difficult it is for people to manage their transactions.

However, the speculation involved with the bitcoin has grown to where speculators are making up a majority of the investments involved with the bitcoin. The United States Drug Enforcement Administration states that only about 10 percent of bitcoin transactions are being utilized with illegal activities in mind.

The 10 percent rate is significantly lower than the 90 percent of transactions that had been for illegal actions from five years earlier. The transaction is a sign of how the currency is being managed well with many needs and desires that people have for handling money.

The Cyber Investigative Task Force has found that criminal activities involving the bitcoin are not as prevalent as they were years earlier. This comes as many criminals and other organizations are not as prominent as many who are looking to invest in the currency and get the most out of its value. The Cyber Investigative Task Force is a part of the DEA that focuses on identifying how online functions and transactions are being organized.

The development of the bitcoin has helped to grow over time. This includes support for the bitcoin to be traded on more markets and to work with many types of transactions. This includes working with investment purposes that entail exchanging the currency to other prominent cryptocurrencies. The bitcoin has especially been noteworthy for trades worth about $5 billion being made every day thanks to how the bitcoin is growing in value.

But while speculation is what is driving the bitcoin over illegal activities, there are still concerns about how drug dealers, terror-related organizations, and other groups might be a concern. The total transaction volume involved with the currencies in the field has increased to an all-time high in recent time. This includes cases where bitcoin transactions are much larger in value on average.

However, it is difficult to try and track some of the illegal activities that are being handled through the bitcoin. The decentralized nature of the illegal activities involved and the pseudonymous nature of the blockchain transactions are important to notice regarding how well the currency is handled. The ability of groups to get out of any possible monitoring concerns is a vital point for people to notice.

The DEA is working on finding ways to track functions on the dark web where much of the currency is being exchanged on. Part of this includes reviewing which groups of people may get on the dark web, particularly through people who might attempt to get access to servers and other places where illegal actions may take part in. The goal that the DEA is working to manage is to improve upon how well the bitcoin may be available without worrying about problems from people finding and using the currency for illegal actions.
