COSS mainly aims to provide multiple cryptocurrency-related services all in one place. The platform consists of an exchange, market cap rankings, payment gateway, a merchant list, a marketplace, various coin facilities, e-wallet and a mobile platform. Major revenue sources of the project are from payment gateway and cryptocurrency exchange. When it comes to the fees, they are very similar to those of already existing exchange platforms and payment solution providers. COSS is blockchain supported and combines its exchange, digital wallet service and merchant platform providing community members to trade various cryptocurrencies as well as to interact with each other.

The project is initiated by MIT Fintech members back in 2016, and the initial success of the platform is due to a direct result of a great collaborative effort between all course participants, company CEO Rune Evensen and of course the COSS development team. They were dedicated to careful project planning which was at its peak at the end of 2016, and the beta phase is currently underway. The main goal of the platform is to provide community members maximum usability as well as greater simplicity within ecosystem designed by them which can be easily handled not by those who are experienced traders, but also by those who are a newcomer to the cryptocurrency exchange industry. The platform provides both fiat and cryptocurrency exchange and only a single registered account is needed in order to start trading.

Recently launched beta soft version greatly utilizes POS  or fully operational payment gateway system. The beta version also gives users an opportunity to experience and feel the COSS platform since its development is almost done and will be launched soon. Some of the additional features offered are third-party plugins, a crowdfunding tool, a market can or coin overviews, ICO platform, remittance as well as payment gateway and blockchain forum.

When it comes to the COSS supported currencies, the platform utilizes VeEROS currency as its native through smart contracts of Ethereum. These smart contracts are used in order to govern the validation, distribution, value as well as confirmation of the VEROS tokens. In addition to its native currency, the platform also supports a great range of other cryptocurrencies as well as fiat-to crypto conversion which is made possible by the exchange.
